Direct debit for Council Tax and Business Rates

You can pay a direct debit:

  • Weekly
  • Fortnightly
  • Monthly.

Paying by a direct debit is simple, safe and secure and you only need to give us your details once.

To complete the form you will need:

  • Your council tax account number and
  • Your bank account details.

Pay at a Post office or PayPoint

You can pay your Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefit overpayments via Post Office and Pay Point.

You can go to any Post Office or PayPoint outlet. You will need to take your bill with you as it has a barcode linked to your account.

If you have a credit or debit card you can pay online.

There is a minimum transaction amount of £5.

You can ring our 24 hour payment line on 01204 520233 or 01204 520244. This is an automated telephone service, you will need to have your bill and credit or debit card ready.

Alternatively, you can speak to someome by ringing us on 01204 331634 between 8.30am and 5.30pm.

Pay by internet or telephone banking

To pay your bill you will need to give your bank or building society the following details:

  • Bolton Council sort code: 20-10-89 and
  • Bolton Council Account number: 63694895 and
  • Your council tax account number
